Linda Selleck

Celtic HarpA Recorded Friends minister, Linda Selleck is active in pastoral and music minisitry, and teaches music at High Point Friends School. She is an honors graduate of Greensboro college with a degree in Music Education (K-12) and Piano. Linda also holds a Masters in Religious Studies degree from Earlham College's School of Religion in Richmond, Indiana.

Linda has taught public and private schools music at all grade levels in the U.S. and Jamaica, and has performed hundreds of weddings and Celtic harp concerts for schools, colleges, and community organizations from Portland, Oregon to Suffolk, Virginia.

On June 18, 2008 she received the Mayor's Teacher of the Year award in the Performing Arts in High Point, NC. In recent years Linda has twice been a Featured Performer for the Piedmont Artists Concert Series in the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point area of North Carolina. She also performed as pianist with the Whitewater Opera Company's School Concerts in Indiana for two years.

A member of the ministry staff of High Point Friends Meeting since 1993, Linda also teaches music at High Point Friends School Preschool through 8th Grade and has produced and directed dozens of musicals, including "Godspell", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", and "Fiddler on the Roof" (Broadway Junior) .

She is the author of Gentle Invaders: Quaker Women Educators and Racial Issues during the Civil War and Reconstruction , a history of racial issues along with the work of Quaker women ministers and educators during and after the Civil War, published by Friends United Press. She is also the arranger of Go Cheerfully, a collection of sacred songs that tell the Quaker story, also published by Friends United Press. Linda and her husband Ron live in High Point, NC, and have two daughters, Sarah and Rachel.
